Jemimah Rodrigues Only Indian Picked In WBBL 11 Draft

Yastika Bhatia and Shikha Pandey were the other Indians who had registered themselves for the draft, but the pair found no takers

The draft for the 2025 edition of the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) took place today, where Jemimah Rodrigues was the only Indian to be snapped up. Rodrigues was re-signed by the Brisbane Heat, for whom she smashed 267 runs at an average of 33.37 and a strike rate of 140 last season.

Yastika Bhatia and Shikha Pandey were the other Indians who had registered themselves for the draft, but the pair found no takers.

The England pair of Sophia Dunkley (Sixers) and Sophie Ecclestone (Strikers) were among the top picks in the draft, as was Amy Jones, who moved to Melbourne Stars.

Dani Wyatt-Hodge (Hurricanes), Heather Knight (Thunder) and Deandra Dottin (Renegades) all were retained (re-signed) by their old franchises, while Shabnim Ismail went to Thunder.

England’s Mady Villiers went to the Sixers, while West Indies’ Chenille Henry went to the Heat.
