Jofra Archer, on February 26 (Wednesday), became the quickest to 50 ODI wickets for England during Match 8 of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 against Afghanistan at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. The right-arm paceman broke James Anderson's record, who got to the landmark in 31 ODIs.
Archer knocked over Afghanistan’s wicketkeeper-batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz in the fifth over to get to the milestone. The 29-year-old celebrated the landmark with another wicket in the same over, getting rid of Sediqullah Atal four deliveries later.

Archer didn't stop there. The seamer also removed Rahmat Shah to become the first England bowler to take three wickets in the powerplay in the ICC Champions Trophy.
Archer, who made his ODI debut in 2019 and was also part of England’s World Cup-winning squad in the same year, also has 42 Test wickets and 41 T20I wickets.
