Good news for Gujarat Titans as their star pacer Kagiso Rabada returns to the playing 11 for the first time since his doping suspension on May 18 against Delhi Capitals (Sunday). Rabada made only three appearances in the season, where he picked up two wickets, averaging 41.50 with the ball.
Since then, however, the South African pacer was banned for drug use during SA20, for which he spent a month away from the sport. The pacer then apologised and was later made eligible to take part in the IPL 2025.
"I am deeply sorry to all those that I have let down," Rabada said in a release. "I will never take the privilege of playing cricket for granted. This privilege is much larger than me. It goes beyond my personal aspirations."
Rabada returned to the GT setup for their clash against Mumbai Indians on May 6 (Tuesday). During that time, the Titans were forced to use the veteran Indian pacer Ishant Sharma as their third pacer.
Despite his absence, the Titans have still been the third-best pace unit in the competition, scalping 37 wickets with the ball, with a strike rate of 20.6.
