Kagiso Rabada hopes for clean sweep against Bangladesh

The last time South Africa won a Test series in the subcontinent was in 2014 against Sri Lanka

South Africa fast bowler Kagiso Rabada hopes that his team can wrap up a 2-0 whitewash against Bangladesh. South Africa are yet to win a Test series in the subcontinent for a decade, which came against Sri Lanka in 2014, but Rabada hopes they can turn things around this time around.

"Hopefully 2-0," Rabada told broadcaster T-sports when asked about the team's goal for the series.

"It is going to be a tough series without any doubt, and we are ready.

"Last time we played here in the ODIs. It was 2014. From what I remember, there was a bit of bounce and a little bit of seam movement. But as soon as the grass is taken off, it can turn.

"I was here on the Test tour as well, where Bangladesh had scored around 250 for 2 and then it started to rag. But then it rained for the rest of the day, so couldn't really get an indication of how it was going to play."

Rabada is one wicket away from claiming his 300th Test victim and believes hard work and love for the game are key elements for success at this level. "Lots of hard work and love for the game," he said.

"Work hard, love the game and don't let the pressure get to you," he said as a message to the young cricketers.

Speaking of the upcoming pacers in the Bangladesh side, he said, "There are some nice seamers coming up in Bangladesh. It's good for the game."

The two-Test series between Bangladesh and South Africa will begin from October 21 (Monday) onwards. The first Test will be played in Dhaka, and the action will shift to Chattogram for the final Test.
