In a truly extraordinary innings, Nair batted like a dream and took down every single MI bowler, including Jasprit Bumrah, nonchalantly.
However, after attaining the highest of highs, Nair’s world has come crashing down in just under a month as the 33-year-old has been dropped by the Capitals following a string of low scores.
Nair followed the onslaught against MI with a duck against Rajasthan Royals (RR) - dismissed via a run-out - but then smashed a brisk 18-ball 31 against Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad. However, in the four innings post that, he only managed 34 runs, registering scores of 0, 15, 4 & 15. With DC finding themselves in a do-or-die situation, the franchise have opted to instead bring in Sameer Rizvi. Nair is not even a part of the impact subs list for the clash against Punjab Kings.
At the mega auction, the right-handed veteran was purchased for INR 50 lakh by DC.
On the night, PBKS won the toss and opted to bat - the first instance of a team opting to bat after winning the toss in Dharamshala in 14 years.
