The Kerala Cricket League (KCL) 2025 has taken off in style with the presence of RR captain Sanju Samson. Although Samson hasn't really been on fire with the bat up until now, whenever he plays, his team, the Kochi Blue Tigers (KBT), remain in the limelight. And hence, KBT’s August 24 (Sunday) match against the Aries Kollam Sailors was no different.
Punjab Kings (PBKS)’s Vishnu Vinod and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)’s Sachin Baby smashed the ball to all parts of the boundary at the Greenfield Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram on August 24 (Sunday), against Samson’s Kochi side, which was being led by his brother Saly Samson.
The two Keralites, Vinod and Baby, might not have got a chance to play any game in IPL 2025, but they made sure to take the limelight by performing against Samson’s team, a man who has been selected in India’s Asia Cup 2025 squad and one who has captained one of the 10 IPL franchises.
Opening the batting for the Sailors, Vinod hit 41-ball 94, with the help of 10 huge sixes and three fours. Baby, who is also the captain of the side, scored 91 off 44 balls, dealing in six sixes and an equal number of fours.
Thanks to these outstanding innings, the Sailors posted 236/5 in their 20 overs against the Kochi team.
