Former West Indies skipper Kieron Pollard and T20 stalwart Rashid Khan have signed themselves up for the new Big Bash League (BBL) draft ahead of the new season of the tournament. Alongside Pollard and Rashid are West Indies’ Dwayne Bravo and New Zealand’s opening batter Colin Munro.
Unlike last year, the Afghanistan leg-spinner is expected to be available for the entire tournament. Last year, the leg-spinner left the tournament mid-way, with international commitments with the Afghanistan team. Fellow Afghan spinner, Qais Ahmed is also set to be part of the draft.
Both Bravo and Pollard return to the BBL for the first time in several years and like Rashid, are expected to play an extended part of the tournament after retiring from international cricket. The players nominate themselves in various categories, including Gold, Silver or Bronze. Cricket Australia (CA), will place some of the biggest names in the additional platinum level.
