Kishan, Chahar added to India A squad for South Africa series

Ishan Kishan and Deepak Chahar have been added to India A's squad for the South Africa series

Two weeks ago, the selectors announced the 15-man India ‘A’ squad for the three-match red-ball series against South Africa. In a late addition, the management added Hanuma Vihari, in order for the right-hander to get acclimatized to the conditions in South Africa.

However, now the management have also added Deepak Chahar and Ishan Kishan to the squad, with the duo expected to fly out from Kolkata post the conclusion of the T20I series against New Zealand. The duo will join the Priyank Panchal-led squad in Bloemfontein.

According to Cricbuzz’s reports, there is a strong possibility that Shardul Thakur would be added to the squad, with the all-rounder now being an integral part of India’s away red-ball plans. It is expected that Kishan would serve as the second-choice keeper in the squad, with Upendra Yadav being the prime option.

On the other hand, Chahar would serve as a reinforcement for the already strong pace-bowling department, Navdeep Saini, Umran Malik, Ishan Porel and Arzan Nagwaswalla, with the first match set to begin on November 23.
