KKR pacer Prasidh Krishna tests positive for COVID-19

Pacer Prasidh Krishna, who was named as stand-by for the World Test Championship and England series, tested positive for COVID-19

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) pacer Prasidh Krishna tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday, according to a report by ESPNCricinfo. Krishna, who featured in seven matches for his team in the now-suspended Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, is the fourth player in the KKR camp to test positive for the virus.

Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier have tested positive earlier this week, while wicketkeeper-batsman Tim Siefert's test returned positive early on Saturday. While Seifert is set to move to Chennai for his treatment, details of Krishna's isolation are yet to be confirmed.

Krishna, who has been named among four standby players for the World Test Championship and Test series against England, will hope to recover soon so he can be ready to fly with rest of the Indian squad for the UK in June.
