Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) greatest of all time, Sunil Narine, is suffering a patch of miserable form, with yet another wicketless game at Major League Cricket (MLC) 2025, on June 24 (Tuesday).
The mystery spinner, who returned from illness, returned with figures of 0/27 in Los Angeles Knight Riders (LAKR)’s loss against Texas Super Kings. It isn’t the first time that Narine has drawn a blank in the season, after going wicketless in his previous two appearances, against Washington Freedom (0/28) and TSK (0/26).
Narine currently averages 123.00 with the ball in MLC 2025, and has not really had an impact with the bat either. The left-hander, across the four clashes, has just scored 27 runs with the bat, averaging 9.00 with the bat, at a strike rate of 180.00, with multiple ducks in the season.
Even in the clash against TSK, the all-rounder did not bat, with Jason Holder and Shadley van Schalkwyk coming ahead of him.
The problem doesn't end there for KKR, as another one of their star all-rounder, Andre Russell, has had a stinker with the bat in hand. Russell, across four innings, has just scored seven runs in the competition, averaging 1.75 with the bat, with just one boundary in the entire season till now.
LAKR have continued to be poor in MLC, with just one win in the competition after five games, with a -2.407 net run rate, which all but rules them out of a playoff spot.
