KKR vs RCB fixture rescheduled as two Kolkata players test positive for Covid-19

Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier from the KKR camp have tested positive for Covid-19

Match 30 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers (RCB) which was to be played tonight (May 3) in Ahmedabad has been rescheduled due to Covid-19 related concerns.

According to an IPL media release, Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier have tested positive for Covid-19. Chakravarthy left the bio-secure bubble but recently used the green channel to get a scan done on his shoulder and could have as a result exposed himself.

The good news, however, is that the results of the rest of the KKR squad have tested negative for coronavirus.

"Both the players have isolated themselves from the rest of the squad. The Medical Team is in continuous touch with the duo and are monitoring their health. Meanwhile, the Kolkata Knight Riders have now moved towards a daily testing routine to identify any other possible cases and treat them at the earliest.," the IPL media release said.

KKR are currently in seventh position in the IPL 2021 table, having won just two out of their seven games this season so far. RCB, on the other hand, have 10 pints from seven matches and are currently in third position.
