Indian Test opener KL Rahul is set to feature for India A in the second first-class match of their tour against the England Lions in Northampton, starting June 6. Following Delhi Capitals' exit from the IPL 2025 playoffs, Rahul informed selectors of his availability for the India A series, as reported by The Indian Express.
“He will be flying on Monday and will be playing the second warm-up game with the India A side. As he is part of the senior men’s team for the five-Test series, these matches will help him get valuable game time and match practice,” a BCCI source told The Indian Express.
India A are scheduled to play two first-class matches against the England Lions before the full-strength Indian team participate in an intra-squad match at Beckenham on June 13. The first first-class match begins on May 30 (Friday) in Canterbury.
Rahul, who has played 58 Tests and scored 3,257 runs at an average of 33.57, has notched up eight centuries and 17 fifties in the format. In England, he has accumulated 614 runs at an average of 34.11, including two centuries—credentials that underline his experience in English conditions.
