Know Your Players: Sanskriti Gupta, Niki Prasad And Sarah Bryce Make WPL Debuts

These three players have had a superb run-up to their maiden WPL games. Get to know them here

Sanskriti Gupta, Niki Prasad and Sarah Bryce are three players that are making their Women’s Premier League (WPL) debuts in the second match of the 2025 edition between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals on February 15 (Saturday).

Here’s all you need to know about these debutants.

Sanskriti Gupta

All of 20 years old, Gupta, from Madhya Pradesh, has already played 24 List-A games for the state side at the U-19, U-23 and senior level. The off-spinner has 32 wickets in those games and scored 197 runs at an average of 19.69. She was part of the record-making MP team which beat Bengal in the final of the  2024 Senior One-Day Trophy.

In the T20s, Gupta has played only eight matches and taken five wickets in them. Tonight, she will share spin bowling duties with the likes of Hayley Mathews, Saika Ishaque and Amelia Kerr.

Niki Prasad

The U-19 World Cup winning captain, Niki Prasad, has a big chance of fast forwarding her international cricket career if she could ride on the high of that fame. Prasad has so far played four T20s, but hasn’t really got the chance to bat apart from one innings.

Coming from Karnataka in domestic cricket, Prasad has played 27 List-A games at U-19, U-23 and senior levels combined. She even has a hundred to her name along with two fifties.

Sarah Bryce

Sarah Bryce is the sister of Scotland player Kathryn Bryce, who played for Gujarat Giants in the previous season. Though the senior Bryce is not playing this season, Sarah has played 40 List-A matches and scored 1319 runs at an average of 35.64, with 10 fifties and a century to her name.

She has much more experience of T20s, playing 128 matches for various teams across the world, including Oval Invincibles in The Hundred Women and Sydney Sixers in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL). The wicketkeeper-batter had 2243 runs at a reasonable average of 25.78. She has scored nine fifties as well.

Bryce is only third player from associate nation to play in WPL after her sister Kathryn and USA' Tara Norris.
