Sarfaraz Ahmed (Quetta captain)
"The pitch played a bit different today. Our bowlers bowled really well to the right-handers in this match and the win was really important for us. I'm really proud of the comeback and the fielding was good, which helped us a lot in building pressure."

Usman Shinwari (Man of the Match)
"I wanted to prove when I get a chance and glad it came off today. The plan was to keep it tight and the wickets would come and that's exactly what happened."

Second win for Quetta
What a win! Quetta have won their second game of the season, while Lahore have now lost two games in a row. They have lost both these games because of their batting unit and this could come back to haunt them later in the tournament. Chasing 159, Lahore were reduced to 66/7 but Tim David (27-ball 46) refused to throw in the towel and played a blinder. James Faulkner, Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf all chipped in but Quetta held their nerves and won the game. Usman Shinwari and Khurram Shahzad took three wickets each, while Mohammad Hasnain and Mohammad Nawaz claimed two apiece. Earlier, Jake Weatherald (41-ball 48) got Quetta off to a pretty decent start. However, Rashid Khan (1/23) and Mohammad Hafeez (1/12) took a wicket each in quick succession and put Lahore on top. Azam Khan (18-ball 33) did his thing but couldn't carry on as Faulkner outfoxed him in the 15th over. The left-arm seamer finished with figures of 3/25. Quetta needed a rapid finish but Afridi didn't allow Sarfaraz Ahmed (27-ball 34*) to dictate terms in the last few overs. Quetta managed 43 runs in the last five overs, which turned out to be enough at the end.

Phew, all over!
Haris Rauf was starting to take the game away but Mohammad Hasnain got the job done with a superb yorker. The No. 11 batsman whacked two fours and a six in the first five deliveries but Hasnain came back well and knocked over Rauf. Quetta win by 18 runs, their second win of the season.

One wicket away
Khurram Shahzad gets the yorker right and castles Shaheen Afridi for 12. That was on the leg-stump and Afridi couldn't get his bat down on time. 37 needed off 18!

42 needed off 24 balls
Shaheen Afridi comes to the crease and announces his arrival by smoking Mohammad Hasnain over deep mid-wicket for a maximum. The next delivery was a bouncer and Afridi managed to get a boundary via a top-edge. This game is not over yet!

Game over?
Just when Tim David was single-handedly taking the game away from Quetta, Usman Shinwari came back for his final over and dismissed the big man. That was some knock though! The right-hander hit four fours and three sixes in his 27-ball 46 before getting caught behind. This should do it for Quetta, though Faulkner is still around.

Tim David gets into the act
The powerful right-hander is still around and he is not going to throw in the towel. Zahoor Khan comes into the attack for the first time and David clobbers him for 23 runs. It all started with a well-timed cut shot, followed by a whip behind square on the leg-side. Then came those two massive sixes - one over deep mid-wicket and the next one over long-off. The required rate is still less than 10.

Khurram Shahzad gets his second
The right-arm paceman comes back into the attack and gets his second victim. This one was a back-of-a-length delivery and Ahmed Daniyal slapped it to the fielder at cover. Just three wickets away now!

Another one bites the dust
This is turning out to be a nightmare for Lahore. A yet another full and flat delivery from Nawaz and Rashid Khan went for the pull shot but couldn't get any bat to it. He has been knocked over for 8 and Quetta are now just four wickets away from their second win of the season.

Five down!
Ben Dunk finally runs out of luck and has been knocked over for just 6. The wicketkeeper-batsman from Australia was dropped behind the stumps and even survived a run out, but Mohammad Nawaz has now sent him back in the seventh over. The left-hander looked clueless tonight and played down the wrong line after Nawaz got this one to turn in from outside off.

Lahore four down inside powerplay
This is poor batting from Lahore! They have lost four wickets inside six overs and Quetta have taken full control of the game. Zeeshan Ashraf (18-ball 16) is the new man to depart and it's Khurram Shahzad who got him caught behind. The left-hander went for the pull shot, got an inside edge and Sarfaraz made no mistake this time around.

Quetta on top
This is outstanding bowling from Shinwari as the left-arm paceman gets rid of Mohammad Hafeez (1) with a superb slower delivery. This one stopped a bit before reaching the batsman and Hafeez wanted to work it to the leg-side but ended up getting a thick edge and was caught at cover. Shinwari would have also dismissed Ben Dunk in the same over but Sarfaraz Ahmed failed to complete the catch. Quetta are dominating the powerplay and Lahore will have to rebuild here.

Bowled him!
This is a massive wicket for Quetta and Mohammad Hasnain who has knocked over Fakhar Zaman for 12. The left-hander tried to heave this straight delivery over deep mid-wicket but failed to make any connection and lost his middle stump. This was quick too!

Shinwari strikes early
Quetta needed an early breakthrough and they have got that in the very first over. Playing his first game of the Abu Dhabi leg, Usman Shinwari has got rid of Sohail Akhtar for a golden duck. This one nipped away from the leg-stump and Akhtar had to play it. He could only manage a thick outside edge and the ball went straight into the hands of the first slip. Perfect start for Quetta! Shinwari is getting good movement and the chase is not going to be easy for Lahore.

Faulkner stars with the ball once again
Asked to bat, Jake Weatherald (41-ball 48) got Quetta off to a pretty decent start. However, Rashid Khan (1/23) and Mohammad Hafeez (1/12) took a wicket each in quick succession and put Lahore on top. Azam Khan (18-ball 33) did his thing but couldn't carry on as James Faulkner outfoxed him in the 15th over. The left-arm seamer finished with figures of 3/25. Quetta needed a rapid finish but Shaheen Afridi didn't allow Sarfaraz Ahmed (27-ball 34*) to dictate terms. Quetta had wickets in hand but could only score 43 in the last five overs.

43 off last five overs
Sarfaraz Ahmed did smash a couple of boundaries but the Lahore bowlers did a pretty good job in the last five overs. Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf kept attacking Sarfaraz with bouncers and the former Pakistan captain even had an intense verbal exchange with Afridi.

Victim No. 3 for Faulkner
The left-armer finishes with figures of 3/25. Mohammad Nawaz hit this one straight to the bowler and Faulkner made no mistake whatsoever. He now has 11 wickets in four games. Quetta now will need their captain to bat till the very end.

Another one for Faulkner
Need wickets? Call James Faulkner! The left-arm seamer gets rid of dangerous Azam Khan who was looking in some mood tonight. Hit the surface and took some pace off, as Azam failed to make the right connection and hit it straight into the hands of the fielder at deep mid-wicket. He departs for 33 off 18. Good cameo though!

Oh, shot!
The big man is looking in superb touch and has now smoked Rashid Khan down the ground for his first maximum. Just came down the track and lofted it over the bowler's head. Quetta now have the momentum and have scored 27 runs in the last two overs. Azam is batting at a strike rate of 220 at the moment.

Azam Khan is up and running
The powerful right-hander likes to play his shots and that's exactly what he is doing at the moment. Azam announced his arrival by hammering Rashid for a boundary towards cow corner and then smoked Haris Rauf for four boundaries in one over. The right-arm paceman has struggled to get his line and length right and Azam made the most of it. A leg glace, solid pull, classical flick, and a gentle slice through backward point. 18 off this over!

Hafeez knocks over Weatherald
This is a massive wicket for Lahore and they are right back on top. Weatherald was batting really well but Hafeez has sent him back in the hut for a 41-ball 48. This was quicker and flatter and Weatherald tried to work this through the leg side but failed to make any connection. Time to rebuild!
QUE 63/2(9.0)

Rashid Khan, you beauty!
The legspinner comes into the attack in the ninth over and has straightaway broken this 58-run stand. Weatherald is going berserk at the other end, but Rashid wouldn't mind this. We all know what Cameron Delport is capable of. This was a quicker delivery and Delport was on the back foot and was completely beaten by pace. The left-hander didn't read this wrong 'un and has been knocked over for 10.

Weatherald goes after Faulkner
A much-needed over for Quetta as Weatherald finishes the powerplay on a solid note. The Australian batsman took the attack to Faulkner and slammed him for two fours and a six. He first guided one towards third man before whacking a slower short delivery over deep mid-wicket. Weatherald followed it up with another boundary towards backward square leg. 16 from this over!

Weatherald finally gets going
The left-hander was on 6 off 14 deliveries before the start of the fifth over but is now finally getting a move on. Weatherald smashed Ahmed Daniyal for consecutive boundaries and will now try to build on this momentum. Despite those two boundaries, Weatherald is batting a strike rate of less than 100.

Faulkner at it again
The left-arm seamer from Australia has been in superb form and has once again given Lahore an early breakthrough. He got on the length outside off and Usman tried to go aerial but ended up hitting it straight to the fielder at sweeper cover. Quetta are once again off to a poor start!

What a first over
Jake Weatherald and Usman Khan have come out to open the innings for Quetta, while Shaheen Afridi took the new ball. Weatherald looked clueless against the left-arm paceman on five deliveries but did manage to get off the mark with a solid drive through extra cover. Weatherald should have been back in the hut as he got a faint edge on the final delivery but neither the bowler nor the wicketkeeper appealed.

Lahore opt to bowl
Playing XIs Quetta Gladiators: Cameron Delport, Usman Khan, Jake Weatherald, Sarfaraz Ahmed (c & wk), Azam Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, Hassan Khan, Zahoor Khan, Mohammad Hasnain, Khurram Shahzad, Usman Shinwari. Quetta Gladiators are almost out of the tournament. The Sarfaraz Ahmed-led side will not just have to win all of their remaining games but will also need quite a few results to go in their favour if they want to make it to the playoffs. Meanwhile, Lahore Qalandars have won five of their seven games and are currently placed second on the points table. Sohail Akhtar and his men defeated Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi in consecutive games to start their Abu Dhabi leg on a high note, but were taken out by Islamabad on Sunday. They had Islamabad on the mat but couldn't get the job done and that's something they will try to avoid tonight. Meanwhile, Quetta will look to win their remaining three games and finish this season on a positive note. Andre Russell, who suffered a concussion last week, has been replaced by Zahoor Khan.
