RR 143/9(20.0)
05:49 PM IST
That's the game
Mustafizur Rahman did not bother to score on the last four balls. CSK complete a convincing 45-run win.
RR 143/9(19.2)
05:44 PM IST
Fourth catch of the night for Ravindra Jadeja. Jaydev Unadkat holes out for 24, off Shardul Thakur
RR 137/8(19.0)
05:41 PM IST
Two sixes and out
Rahul Tewatia collects two sixes in the penultimate over but falls on the last ball. The equation is anyways out of RR's reach. Dwayne Bravo finishes his spell with a wicket
RR 122/7(18.0)
05:38 PM IST
Too little, too late?
13 runs in the 18th over. A four and a six from un unlikely candidate, Jaydev Unadkat. But it seems too little, too late as RR still require 67 from the last two overs.
RR 95/7(14.3)
05:22 PM IST
Wickets, Wickets, More Wickets!!
Riyan Parag and Chris Morris walk back to the hut now. Both of them try to slog-sweep Moeen Ali towards the cow corner but noneestablish the desired connection. Catching practice for Ravindra Jadeja in the deep. RR have lost five wickets for 8 runs. Moeen Ali with figures of three wickets for 1 run in 1.3 overs
RR 92/5(12.5)
05:15 PM IST
Calamity has struck this run-chase. David Miller is out as well. Watching Jadeja turn the ball in the previous over, MS Dhoni employed Moeen Ali in to the attack. Miller tries to sweep him but misses. Umpire raises the finger and Miller walks back.
RR 90/4(12.0)
05:10 PM IST
Is this Wankhede or Chepauk? Jadeja turns another one, bringing the ball back towards Shivam Dube. The left-hander is wrapped in front of the stumps and it is the second wicket of the over for Jadeja. The game has TURNED
RR 87/3(11.1)
05:07 PM IST
Jaffa from Ravindra Jadeja. Turns one away from Jos Buttler to light his stumps up for 49. Big wicket in the context of the game.
RR 81/2(10.0)
04:58 PM IST
Halfway mark!
Jos Buttler and Shivam Dube have kept RR's chase on a steady path. Both of them are ticking the scoreboard nicely with occasional boundaries.
RR 45/2(5.5)
04:38 PM IST
Massive moment in the game. Sanju Samson has thrown away his wicket. He plays a slower shot ball, which could have been pumped for a six, straight to Dwayne Bravo at mid-on.
RR 30/1(3.5)
04:28 PM IST
Sam Curran provides the first breakthrough for CSK. Manan Vohra hands catching practice to Ravindra Jadeja at deep midwicket. Goes for 14 off 11 balls after a 30-run stand.
RR 11/0(1.0)
04:13 PM IST
False start!
Deepak Chahar all over the place in the first over. Jos Buttler and Manan Vohra score a boundary each to put up 11 runs in the first over.
CSK 188/9(20.0)
03:55 PM IST
15 off the last over
A six off the last ball by Dwayne Bravo takes CSK to 188. 15 runs from the last over of Mustafizur Rahman, along with two wickets - both run outs. Bravo with a crucial cameo of 20 not out from 8 balls.
CSK 173/7(19.0)
03:46 PM IST
Morris flustered
Chris Morris lost the plot a bit to end his spell, conceding 10 runs from his last three balls - two fours and two wides
CSK 163/7(18.3)
03:42 PM IST
5 runs from the first two balls of the 19th over, both from edge. The third ball is also an edge but this one straight to Sanju Samson behind the stumps. Chris Morris strikes for the second time tonight, this one with a bouncer. Ravindra Jadeja is out for 8 off seven balls.
CSK 147/6(17.2)
03:35 PM IST
Chetan Sakariya has struck for the third time. MS Dhoni could only give a glimpse of himself with two boundaries but has been ultimately done by a slower one from Sakariya. A desperate swing has been pouched safely by Jos Buttler at extra cover.
CSK 133/5(16.0)
03:27 PM IST
CSK's stutter
Only 8 runs for CSK in 13 balls since Suresh Raina's dismissal. The innings has slowed down at a crucial juncture.
CSK 125/5(13.5)
03:15 PM IST
Another one
Suresh Raina's misery comes to an end. He middles it, but straight to Chris Morris at mid-off. Two wickets for Sakariya. Two new men in for CSK. MS Dhoni joins Ravindra Jadeja in the middle.
CSK 123/4(13.2)
03:12 PM IST
Ambati Rayudu's cameo comes to an end. He times it sweetly but has Riyan Parag in his way at sweeper cover. First wicket of the night for Chetan Sakariya.
CSK 98/3(11.0)
02:59 PM IST
Two sixes against Parag
The pendulum keeps swinging. Sanju Samson goes for an extra over of spin, bringing Riyan Parag to bowl. Ambati Rayudu greets him with a six over long-off. Suresh Raina adds another one, over mid-wicket.
CSK 78/3(9.2)
02:53 PM IST
Tewatia removes the aggressor
Rahul Tewatia came in to the bowling attack and struck straightaway. Moeen Ali will feel he could have hit for a six. It was there in his slot to cart it over back foot. However, Tewatia slowed it up a little which got the lower end of Moeen's bat. Riyan Parag, at deep mid-wicket, made no mistake. CSK three down with Moeen's dismissal for 26 off 20.
CSK 66/2(8.0)
02:43 PM IST
Moeen takes the baton from Faf
20 runs in the two overs post Powerplay has kept CSK's run-rate over 8. 18 of these runs have come from Moeen Ali with two sixes and a four. Suresh Raina, on the other hand, is yet to get off the mark, having faced three balls.
CSK 45/2(5.4)
02:30 PM IST
Faf departs
Chris Morris has dismissed his countryman. Faf du Plessis charges again and Morris adjusts his line wide outside the off-stump. Faf still reaches out for the ball and ends up slicing it to Riyan Parag at deep cover-point.
CSK 44/1(5.0)
02:26 PM IST
Faf turns it CSK's way
Ruturaj Gaikwad's dismissal has had no effect on Faf du Plessis. He has feasted 19 runs from the third over of Jaydev Unadkat - 5th of the innings - to boost CSK's run-rate. Faf began with two scoops down the fine-leg for four. He then went straight down the ground - a six over mid-off and a straight four over Uandkat's for four. He has contributed 33 out of CSK's total of 44 at this point.
CSK 25/1(3.5)
02:20 PM IST
Before this game, Ruturaj Gaikwad had faced 10 deliveries from left-arm seamers in his young IPL career, scoring only 1 run at the cost of two wickets. With three left-arm pacers to start with the ball for RR, this was not a feasible match-up for Gaikwad. He struggled throughout and ultimately perished for 10 off 13 balls, in a valiant attempt to charge down the track. All he managed was a top edge to Shivam Dube at mid-off.
CSK 22/0(3.0)
02:18 PM IST
Decent start!?
In the first two games, CSK had a shoddy run-rate of 5.4 in the Powerplay. Today, there has been a conspicuous intent to improve on that, especially by Faf du Plessis. He came down the track on the last ball of the second over - to Chetan Sakariya - smashing him for a six over mid-on. In the next over, he did the same to Jaydev Unadkat, finding a boundary though mid-wicket. RR would think they have not done much wrong with the ball as yet. They have bowled in tight areas, while exploiting the subtle movement available in the air. Unadkat, in fact, induced an outside edge off Ruturaj Gaikwad's bat on the first ball. However, the ball went wide off Rahul Tewatia at first slip to get CSK's innings underway with a four.

RR opt to bowl
Hello, people! It is GAME TIME. Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals lock horns in Match 12 of IPL 2021. Both the sides lost their first game but got off the mark in the second. They will aim at two wins on bounce to seize the much needed momentum in what are still early days in the season. The pitch will again play a big part. Three of the five games in Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium as yet have seen scores in excess of 190. The other two, however, have teams struggling to reach 150. One of those two games included CSK while the other had RR. Thus, both teams come to this game with big bowling performances behind them. This is the same track where RR restricted Delhi for 147 and clinched there first win. RR have won the toss and they have opted to bowl. Skipper, Sanju Samson says they are keeping things simple and will field with the same side. The opposition skipper, MS Dhoni, staying true to his nature, has also keep the side unchanged. He also says the pitch looks a bit tacky to start. CSK XI: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Faf du Plessis, Moeen Ali, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, Sam Curran, MS Dhoni (c/wk), Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Bravo, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar RR XI: Jos Buttler, Manan Vohra, Sanju Samson (c/wk), Shivam Dube, David Miller, Riyan Parag, Rahul Tewatia, Chris Morris, Jaydev Unadkat, Chetan Sakariya, Mustafizur Rahman QUICK BYTE: Both CSK and RR have a win percentage of 50% at the Wankhede. CSK have won eight out of their 16 games and RR have won five out of 10 here.
