NEWSHaving lost their previous game, against Chennai Super Kings, by 45 runs, Rajasthan Royals have faced another setback in their IPL 2021 campaign. Their overseas recruit, Liam Livingstone has flown home due to bubble fatigue.
A batsman who can bowl part-time spin, Livingstone was yet to play in this season but was still an important part of the squad as a back-up option. His ouster from the tournament comes few days after Ben Stokes was ruled out due to a suspected broken finger. Rajasthan have now lost two of their overseas cricketers this season.
It is understood that Livingstone flew back on Monday (April 19) and the franchise stated that they respect his decision.
Livingstone was consistently a reserve squad member for England’s white-ball series against Ireland, Pakistan, Australia and South Africa. He was also a part of England’s ODI and T20I series in India. In between, he featured for Perth Scorchers in the 2020/21 Big Bash League as well which means he was constantly a part of bio-bubble environment ever since cricket resumed June, 2020 onwards.
