LSG Dealt Heavy Blow Ahead Of IPL 2025 As Star Pacer Suffers Back Injury
The 22-year-old injured himself after making his international cricket debut against Bangladesh in the T20I series
Injury-prone pacer Mayank Yadav dealt a heavy blow to the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) even before the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. He will, reportedly, miss the first half of the richest cricket league’s 2025 season.
Mayank, who is undergoing rehabilitation at the Board Of Control For Cricket in India (BCCI)’s Center Of Excellence in Bengaluru, seems to have not recovered in time to begin the season.

LSG would be under tremendous pressure to find another bowler as Mayank’s replacement, after they retained the speed merchant for a whopping INR 11 Cr ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction.
"As much as we are keen on having him [play IPL 2025], we want him 150% fit, not just 100% fit, so we'll do everything possible to get him there," Zaheer Khan, LSG’s Director of Cricket, had said earlier about Mayank’s importance to the team.
