Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) owner Sanjiv Goenka was seen having a conversation with captain Rishabh Pant and head coach Justin Langer after their one-wicket defeat against Delhi Capitals (DC) in Match 4 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 in Visakhapatnam on March 24 (Monday).
The conversation, however, wasn’t as intense as the one he had with former LSG captain KL Rahul last season, for which Goenka was heavily criticised.
Pant, who was bought by LSG for INR 27 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction, had a terrible debut for the franchise. The wicketkeeper-batter faced six deliveries in the match but couldn’t score a single run.
Despite Pant not firing with the bat, Lucknow got to 209/8 in their 20 overs, thanks to Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran.
LSG then even managed to reduce DC to 65/5 in the second innings, but that’s when Ashutosh Sharma (31-ball 66*), Tristan Stubbs (22-ball 34) and Vipraj Nigam (15-ball 39) stepped up and got Delhi over the line with three balls to spare.
LSG will next play Sunrisers Hyderabad in Hyderabad on March 27.
