After surviving an early call, Lucknow Super Giants’ new signing Mitchell Marsh smashed his way to a 27-ball half-century inside the powerplay against Mumbai Indians on April 4 (Friday). On any other day, the Australian all-rounder would have been dismissed in the very first over for a four-ball four but eventually went on to score 60 off 31.
Marsh didn’t just survive but went on to brutally attack the MI pace unit, smashing 22 runs off Ashwani Kumar’s over, taking his tally to 60 off 30 balls. Not just that, the all-rounder set a unique powerplay record, facing the most deliveries in an innings inside the powerplay, surpassing Shikhar Dhawan’s 29-ball efforts.
