Lucknow Super Giants have replaced Jaydev Unadkat with young fast-bowling all-rounder Suryansh Shedge for the remainder of the Indian Premier League 2023.
Unadkat sustained an injury on his left shoulder earlier this month and was ruled out of IPL 2023. The left-arm seamer suffered the injury prior to Lucknow's clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore on May 1.
He featured in only three encounters and leaked 92 runs in eight overs. The 31-year-old then travelled to Mumbai for scans and visited one of the specialist consultants appointed by the board.
He is currently at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru for rehabilitation and is expected to be fit for the World Test Championship Final against Australia starting June 7.
Shedge, who is a huge fan of Ben Stokes, was part of Mumbai’s Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Ranji Trophy squads last season but didn’t play a single game.
In the Under-25 State A Trophy at Rajkot last year, Shedge smashed 120 runs in four innings at an average of 40 and also claimed nine wickets, including a five-wicket haul against Orissa.
