Malik to miss England T20I due to a personal issue

Malik is expected to rejoin the team in 10 days time.

Experienced Pakistani middle-order batsman, Shoaib Malik is set to miss the one-off T20I against England this Sunday, May 5th 2019,  due to a ‘personal issue.’Raza Kitchlew, the media manager of the Pakistan team, said: “The team management has given leave to Shoaib Malik, so that he can return home to deal with a personal issue. He is expected to rejoin the team in 10 days time.”


Malik who is one of Pakistan’s most capped ODI players has featured in 282 matches till date having made his debut in 1999. Malik is a part of the 15-man preliminary World Cup squad and is set to play in just his 2nd World Cup after 2007 having missed the 2003, 2011 and 2015 editions.  Malik is expected to be a key part of Pakistan’s middle-order as the team management trusts him to don the role of a finisher.
