Manoj Prabhakar steps down as Nepal's head coach

The former India international has stepped down from his role after just four months

Former India allrounder Manoj Prabhakar, on Thursday, stepped down as Nepal men's national team's head coach, Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) confirmed.

It was only in August that the former Delhi, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh coach took up the job and coached Nepal for five T20Is and seven ODIs.

"Mr. Manoj Prabhakar has stepped down from his position of Nepal Men’s National Cricket Team’s Head Coach with immediate effect on 15th December 2022. CAN has accepted his resignation and wish him the best for his future," CAN said in an official tweet.




Under Prabhakar, Nepal won the ODI and T20I series against Kenya in August followed by a home ODI series against UAE in November. Currently, Nepal are second from the bottom in the CWC Super League 2 with eight wins and 14 defeats from 24 matches.

In their last five ODIs, Nepal lost two to Oman and won three against USA.

In an international career from 1984-96, Prabhakar played 39 Tests  for India and claimed 96 wickets and played 130 ODIs and has 157 wickets to his name.
