All-rounder Marizanne Kapp today became South Africa Women's most capped player in Women's One-Day International (WODI) history. She achieved this feat during the match against New Zealand in the Women's World Cup clash in Indore. Kapp has now played 155 ODIs for South Africa Women, one more than Mignon du Preez, who last played for the national side in 2022.
In her 16-year career so far, the 35-year-old has scored 3,307 runs at 35.18, which includes four tons and 15 half-centuries. She also has 170 wickets to her name - the most by a bowler for her country after Shabnim Ismail (191).
Kapp has also played four Tests and 116 T20Is for her country since making her debut in 2009. She has been in excellent form with the bat this year, having hit 191 runs in six matches at an average of 95.50.
In the first match of the World Cup against England, Kapp managed just 4 off 6 balls and went wicketless as South Africa lost by 10 wickets after posting just 69 - the third lowest in their history.
