Mark Wood withdraws his name from IPL auction

The 31-year-old pacer has joined his national side to play last two Test matches against India

England pacer Mark Wood has withdrawn his name from the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 player auction. 

According to ESPNcricinfo, Wood had decided to withdraw his name to spend time with his family at home. 

The 31-year-old pacer has joined his national side to play last two Test matches against India in Ahmedabad. Wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow also joined England squad in Chennai. 

The third Test will begin on February 24 in Ahmedabad.

India levelled the four-match Test series 1-1 against England after a 317-run victory in the second Test at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
