Team will begin their preparations for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 from March 14 or 15 at five venues allotted by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), a PTI report said.
The MCA grounds in suburban Bandra Kurla Complex and Thane, the Dr DY Patil University ground and a football pitch along with the CCI (Cricket Club of India) and the Reliance Corporate Park ground in Ghansoli have been identified by the Maharashtra state government, MCA authorities and BCCI as practice venues for the ten teams.
Ahead of the tournament start on March 26, the players are likely to report to their respective camps from March 8. All the people involved with the tournament will have to undergo RTPCR test 48 hours before arriving in Mumbai while the players will have to undergo 3-5 days of quarantine before entering their team bubbles.
The tournament is set to be played in Mumbai and Pune with the Wankhede Stadium, Brabourne stadium and the DY Patil stadium in Mumbai set to host 55 matches while the MCA stadium in Pune is set to host 15 games.
The BCCI is hopeful of having crowds at a reduced capacity during the games after last season's matches in India have been played behind closed doors due to the pandemic.
