MI Superstar Smashes Century, Continues Outrageous Form In Vitality Blast 2025

Mumbai Indians (MI) star Will Jacks smashed his fifth century in the T20 format. Playing against Sussex in the Vitality Blast on July 18 (Friday), he hammered 100 off just 59 balls to power Surrey to a 7-run victory. Opening the batting, Jacks smashed 12 fours and 3 sixes and batted till the 19th over as he helped Surrey post 204/5 on the board. He then took 2/27 with the ball as Surrey, also thanks to Sam Curran’s 4/18, sealed a close victory.

With 504 runs at an average of 50.40 and strike rate of 164.70, Jacks has been the most impactful batter in Vitality Blast 2025. The century on Friday extended an outrageous run as the right-hander’s last five scores in the competition now read 100, 52, 57, 31 & 57.

Jacks’ showing in the ongoing Vitality Blast season will do his chances of a retention no harm, ahead of IPL 2026. 

With the victory, Surrey have now moved to the top of the South Group, with 11 wins and just 3 losses, and have progressed to the knockouts.
