All-rounder Michael Bracewell registered the best bowling figures for a New Zealand spinner in the ICC Champions Trophy. He achieved this feat during the match against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi.
Overall, Bracewell has registered the fourth-best figures for a Black Caps bowler in Champions Trophy history.
Jacob Oram 5/36 vs USA, The Oval, 2004
Shayne O'Connor 5/46 vs Pakistan, Nairobi, 2000
Shane Bond 4/21 vs Bangladesh, Colombo, 2002
Michael Bracewell 4/26 vs Bangladesh, Rawalpindi, 2025
Kyle Mills 4/30 vs England, Cardiff, 2013
Bracewell, who bowled all of his 10 overs on the trot, got the wickets of Tanzid Hasan, Towhid Hridoy, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah on his way to 4/26. This is also his best bowling figures in One-Day Internationals (ODI), bettering the 4/36 that he picked against Sri Lanka in Pallekele last year.
The off-spinner started off the Champions Trophy with figures of 1/38 against Pakistan, which New Zealand won by 60 runs. A win over Bangladesh will see the Kiwis progress to the semi-final.
