Mithali reclaims No. 1 spot in ODI rankings, Mandhana breaks into top three in T20Is

The India captain displaces West Indies captain Stafanie Taylor who drops to fifth

India Women captain Mithali Raj has climbed to the top of the ICC ODI players rankings after scores of 75, 59 and 75* in the three-ODI series against England Women. Mithali goes past West Indies captain Stafanie Taylor dropped four spots to fifth in the rankings.

This is the ninth time Mithali has reached the summit of the rankings, after first occupying the spot over 16 years ago. 

According to the ICC media release, "In Tuesday’s (July 20) weekly update, which takes into account performances in the last three matches of the five-match series between the West Indies and Pakistan that Taylor’s side won 3-2, the West Indies captain has lost 30 points after scoring 49 and 21 in the two times she batted."

Taylor has slipped four spots into the fifth position, while South Africa's Lizelle Lee, Australia wicketkeeper Alyssa Healy and England batter Tammy Beaumont have all climbed one spot each and are currently occupying second, third and fourth spots respectively.

On The T20I front, while India batter Shafali Verma continues to top the charts, her opening partner Smriti Mandhana has climbed one place and finds herself in the top three for the very first time in her career.
