The three-match winning run of the Texas Super Kings (TSK), a sister franchise of the Indian Premier League (IPL) side Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Major League Cricket (MLC), USA’s premier T20 league, was halted, as they lost to the San Francisco Unicorns, even after their skipper Faf du Plessis scored a brilliant 51-ball 100.
Du Plessis, vice captain of the Delhi Capitals (DC) franchise in the IPL 2025, was well-supported by Saiteja Mukkamalla’s 24-ball 34 as the TSK posted 198/5 in their 20 overs.
However, it turned out to be not enough as fifties from Matthew Short (29-ball 61) and Finn Allen (35-ball 78) alongside Jake Fraser-McGurk’s 25-ball 37 guided the Unicorns home with 3.5 overs to spare.
This was a clash between two unbeaten teams and at the end of this game, the Unicorns remained the only team unbeaten in the competition and were at the number one spot in the points table. The Super Kings remain at number two.
