WATCH: Mumbai Indians Veteran Shines With 4-Wicket Haul in MLC
It was thanks to the speedster’s 4/17 that New York managed to stop Los Angeles at 154/8
Trent Boult, a Mumbai Indians (MI) veteran, who has taken 60 wickets for the franchise in 45 appearances, including 22 alone this season in 16 games, turned out to be a game-changer for their sister-franchise, the MI New York in Major Cricket League (MLC) 2025 in an encounter against the Los Angeles Knight Riders (LAKR), a sister franchise of the IPL giant Kolkata Knight Riders, on July 3 (Thursday).
In the match taking place at the Central Broward Park & Broward County Stadium, Lauderhill in Florida, the New Zealander was at his lethal best, breaking the timber behind the top three batters of the LAKR- Unmukt Chand, Andre Fletcher and Andre Russell. He then took out their best batter, Sherfane Rutherford, as well, getting the West Indian caught for 86 by George Linde.

It was thanks to Boult’s 4/17 that New York managed to stop Los Angeles at 154/8. Chasing the target then was a matter of a few partnerships which came in the form of a 112-run stand between Monank Patel and Nicholas Pooran.
Thanks to this win, the MI side now has four points and can challenge the Seattle Orcas for the last spot in the playoffs as the fourth team. The Orcas have six points from the same number of games. With both teams having two matches to play, it could all come down to their last set of games.
