Mohammad Nabi recalled for Pakistan T20Is

Sediqullah Atal earned his maiden call-up for the national side and could potentially make his debut in the three-match series

Afghanistan have announced a strong 17-member squad for the three-match home series against Pakistan, set to be played from March 24 to 27 in Sharaj with Rashid Khan at the helm. 

The team management have included Sediqullah Atal in the team, and he could potentially make his debut for the national side at the top of the order.

Along with the 21-year-old, Afghanistan have recalled their former skipper, Mohammad Nabi, who led the team in the 2022 T20 World Cup Down Under. 

On the other hand, Rahmat Shah and Hazratullah Zazai have been dropped from the squad.

In the press release Naseeb Khan, the CEO of Afghanistan said, “Our team has been working hard in training camp, and selectors have selected the best available players for the series."

"I am confident that our team will perform at their best and make our nation proud. We wish our team the best of luck for the series and hope to see them emerge victorious," he further added. 

“In addition, we look forward to an exciting competition between two great teams. Both nations have passionate fans who support their teams with enthusiasm and pride."

"As neighbours, we have a special bond and we hope to showcase not only our cricketing skills but also the spirit of friendship and sportsmanship. We wish both teams the best of luck and hope that cricket fans around the world will enjoy the games,” he concluded.
