Mohammed Siraj appointed Telangana's DSP after India's T20 World Cup win
The fast bowler played three matches in India's triumphant campaign in the US and West Indies
Fast bowler Mohammed Siraj has been appointed Telangana's Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) following India's triumphant T20 World Cup 2024. He reported for duty to Dr Jitender, Telangana’s Director General of Police (DGP), on October 11 (Friday).
After India won the T20 World Cup, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy ordered the officials to hand a government job and allot a plot of land to Siraj.
"Indian cricketer Mohammed Siraj has been appointed as Telangana's DSP, honouring his cricket achievements and dedication to the state. He will continue his cricket career while inspiring many with his new role," a statement said.
Siraj played three matches at the T20 World Cup 2024 in the US and the West Indies but managed just one wicket in the tournament. Most recently, he was part of India's squad for the two-match Test series against Bangladesh at home, in which he picked up four wickets at 34.50, as India completed a 2-0 whitewash.
Siraj has picked up over 160 wickets for India since making his debut in 2017.
