Mohsin Khan set to join LSG squad for the rest of the IPL season

The left-arm seamer has not played any form of professional cricket since IPL 2022

Having missed the first three weeks of the ongoing 2023 IPL and all forms of cricket over the past one year, Mohsin Khan is set to return to cricketing action. The left-arm pacer is ready to join the Lucknow Super Giants camp for the remainder of the season. The 24-year old was nursing a shoulder injury.

He underwent surgery to remove blood clots on his shoulder and while he was batting, he was still looking to strengthen his bowling shoulder.

Mohsin had an impressive first season with LSG where he picked up 14 wickets at an economy rate of under six as the franchise made it to the playoffs in their debut season. He has not played any form of professional cricket since.

Lucknow have clearly missed the services of Mohsin. They have played the likes of Jaydev Unadkat and Yudhvir Singh Charak. While Unadkat has not clicked at all, Charak picked 2/19 in three overs on his Lucknow debut against Punjab. However, Lucknow lost the game by two wickets in what was their first home defeat of the season.

Also, Avesh Khan’s form isn’t at its best which will make Lucknow welcome M0hsin back in the side as soon as possible.

Mohsin joining the squad will be a big sigh of relief for the franchise. However, his inclusion in the XI still depends on how fit he is. LSG will play their next game is scheduled on Wednesday (April 19) against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur.

At the time of writing this, Lucknow is placed second on the points with three wins and two defeats in five games.
