Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) spinner Digvesh Rathi has gained quite a popularity because of his ‘Notebook’ celebration in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 and has even been fined twice by the authorities.
In the first two games, where he was fined, the 25-year-old would write the name of the player he would dismiss on his palm, but later shifted to writing those names on the ground.
Since then, Rathi has had no trouble with the IPL authorities and has continued to celebrate in that fashion after taking a wicket.
Rathi has not just grabbed everyone’s attention with his celebration, but has also been one of the best spinners in the IPL 2025. The legspinner has unarguably been LSG’s best and most-trusted bowler this season.
In Match 45 of the IPL 2025 against Mumbai Indians (MI), opener Ryan Rickelton became Rathi’s latest victim, and the spinner gave him a similar send-off.
After Rickelton smashed Rathi for two sixes and a four in his second over, the spinner had him caught at backward point in his next over. The left-hander hit 58 off 32 deliveries before getting added to ‘The List of Rathi’. (Any Chris Jericho fans out there?)
