Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni jokingly called his close friend and former teammate Dwayne Bravo a “traitor” ahead of the game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
Bravo joined CSK as a player in 2011 and won three titles with the franchise. The all-rounder from West Indies announced his retirement after the 2022 edition and joined the Men in Yellow as bowling coach ahead of the 2023 season.
However, Bravo shifted his base to KKR ahead of the IPL 2025, becoming their mentor, and will be up against his former franchise at Chepauk on April 11 (Friday).
Meanwhile, Dhoni will captain CSK for the rest of the season after Ruturaj Gaikwad was ruled out of the entire edition because of an elbow injury.
Ahead of the game, Dhoni was seen doing nets and jokingly said, “The traitor is here” after meeting Bravo. The West Indian replied: "Life is so unfair", before hugging Ravindra Jadeja and shaking hands and patting MSD.
KKR have won two of their five games so far in the IPL 2025, while CSK have lost four of their five fixtures.
