Purchased for 30 lakh at the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction by Mumbai Indians (MI), the stocks of Bevon-John Jacobs continue to rise.
The hard-hitting 22-year-old batter, who last month earned a maiden T20I call-up, scaled a new height today by posting his highest-ever T20 score, hammering an unbeaten 90 off 56 balls for Auckland in the side’s clash against Northern Knights in the Super Smash 2024/25 clash at Seddon Park, Hamilton.

Auckland were in deep trouble at 30/3 when Jacobs walked in. They would soon get reduced to 52/4 at the end of the eighth over. But from this point, the right-hander played an absolute blinder to take the side to 187/5. Jacobs’ knock featured eight fours and four massive sixes.
Jacobs’ career T20 strike rate now reads 171.3. He has scored 281 runs in nine innings while averaging 40.14. Jacobs also averages 41.00 in first-class cricket, having amassed three fifty-plus scores in his first seven innings.
