Mumbai Indians have named South Africa’s Kwena Maphaka as the replacement for Dilshan Madushanka, who will miss the upcoming season of IPL (Indian Premier League) due to injury.
The left-arm seamer left the field during the second ODI against Bangladesh on March 15, 2024 (Friday), after experiencing some discomfort in his left hamstring. Two days later, the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) confirmed that the left-arm seamer has a hamstring injury and will miss the rest of the tour.
Mumbai signed Madushanka at his base price of INR 50 lakh and was supposed to participate in his maiden IPL season after a brilliant World Cup where he was the highest wicket-taker for Sri Lanka (21 wickets at 25 runs apiece).

Earlier, Mumbai have played a punt on players like Marco Jansen, Duan Jansen and Tristan Stubbs in terms of signing uncapped South African players.
