Mumbai T20 League Set To Restart With 2 New Teams
The tournament returns for the first time since 2019
Mumbai T20 League is set to restart after six years and get underway from May 27 onwards, right after the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The six-team event, which was last played in 2019, will have as many as eight teams in 2025.
On April 1 (Tuesday), the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) invited bids for the two new teams.
"The MCA, governing body of the T20 Mumbai League, invites bids from interested and eligible parties for the right to operate two (2) teams in the prestigious T20 Mumbai League. Interested parties/participants can obtain the bid documents from the office of MCA, i.e., Cricket Centre, Wankhede Stadium, ‘D’ Road, Churchgate, Mumbai - 400020, on payment of Rs 1,00,000 (Rupees One lakh only) (non-refundable) by demand draft favouring 'Mumbai Cricket Association' being the cost of bid document from 1st April, 2025, till 7th April 2025, between 11 am and 6 pm," the MCA mentioned.
North Mumbai Panthers, ARCS Andheri, Triumph Knights Mumbai North East, Namo Bandra Blasters, Eagle Thane Strikers, and Aakash Tigers Mumbai Western Suburbs will return in the next edition of the Mumbai T20 League, along with two new teams.
North Mumbai Panthers are the defending champions, having won the final in 2019.
