Nehal Wadhera Registers His Highest IPL Score Against His Favourite Opponent
The left-hander smashed 70 off 37 deliveries, hitting five sixes and as many fours
Nehal Wadhera loves batting against Rajasthan Royals (RR), and the Punjab Kings (PBKS) batter brought up his highest score in the Indian Premier League (IPL) against the same opponent at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on May 18 (Sunday).
The left-hander smashed 70 off 37 deliveries, hitting five sixes and as many fours. Wadhera’s previous best IPL score was 64, which came against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in 2023.
PBKS lost three wickets in the first 19 deliveries of the game, but that’s when Wadhera stepped up and added 67 runs for the fourth wicket with skipper Shreyas Iyer. Wadhera also added 58 runs with Shashank Singh in no time.
This was Wadhera’s fourth fifty in the IPL, with two of those coming against RR. In three innings against Rajasthan, the left-hander has scores of 49, 62 and 70 respectively. He has 181 runs against Rajasthan at an average of 60.33 and a strike rate of 177.4.
This is also Wadhera’s best IPL season, having managed 280 runs across 10 innings at an average of 35 and a strike rate of 157.3.
