New Zealand have named their 15-man squad for the first Test against England at Lord's. The visitors have named Henry Nicholls and Trent Boult in the squad, both of whom are doubtful for the fixture.
Nicholls suffered a calf injury before arriving in England and hasn't played any cricket in the build-up to the series. Boult, on the other hand, will join the squad late after representing Rajasthan Royals in the IPL final on Sunday.
Michael Bracewell, the 31-year old batter from Wellington, has been named as the 16th member of the squad, as an injury cover for Nicholls. Bracewell himself returned a positive Covid-19 test in the first week of the tour.
Jacob Duffy, Blair Tickner, Rachin Ravindra and Hamish Rutherford are the four players who have missed out from the initially named 20-man squad.
The Lord's Test of the three-match Test series starts on June 2 (Thursday). New Zealand lost their second warm-up game to the Select County XI n Chelmsford. Unlike the two-match Test series between the two nations last year, this series is a part of the World Test Championship 2021-23 cycle.
