In what comes as big news, Mumbai Indians will be without their star batter, Rohit Sharma, for their clash against Lucknow Super Giants on April 4 (Friday). The right-hander is missing an Indian Premier League (IPL) clash for the first time since 2021 against Chennai Super Kings.
While Rohit has been used as an impact player this season, the right-hander was not even included in the squad because of a late injury in the nets. MI skipper Hardik Pandya confirmed at the toss that Rohit wasn’t going to be part of the clash because he was hit on the knee in the nets.
“Rohit was hit on the knee. He is missing out,” Hardik said at the toss.
Instead of Rohit, the five-time IPL champions have included the talented all-rounder Raj Angad Bawa, who had a stellar Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) season.
