Georgia Wareham had to leave The Hundred 2025, after a groin strain ruled her out of the tournament. However, she was there when the Superchargers celebrated their maiden Hundred win as her teammates got a life-size cardboard cutout of hers in a Northern Superchargers jersey and brought it on the stage while they lifted the trophy. In fact, they also placed a medal around the cutout’s neck, showing a brilliant display of team spirit on a night of celebration.
Earlier, the Superchargers chased down 116 with 12 balls remaining, courtesy of Nicola Carey (who came in as Wareham’s replacement), scoring 35 on just 25 deliveries. In the first innings, Kate Cross and Annabel Sutherland shone with the ball for the Superchargers as they picked 2/23 in their 20 deliveries and crippled the Southern Brave batting order. Notably, the Brave had reached the final after winning every single league game in the competition.
After Carey and Sutherland (28 off 25) helped Superchargers win the Hundred, and the celebrations began, off-spinner Lucy Higham went back to the dressing room and brought out Wareham’s cutout before they lifted the trophy. She even carried it to the stage, put a medal around it, and the other players posed with it while celebrating their special win in the competition.
The wholesome gesture drew hearty reactions from fans on social media as they appreciated the team spirit shown by the Superchargers, and even applauded the eccentricity of celebrating with a cardboard cutout.
