In what comes as a relief for Delhi Capitals (DC), their fast bowler Anrich Nortje has produced three negative Covid-19 tests and as a result, has joined the team's bio-secure bubble. While Kagiso Rabada played his first game of the season in DC's loss against Rajasthan Royals (RR), there was a delay in getting Nortje's result and due to that, the South African pacer missed the match. There were reports of Nortje testing positive for coronavirus, but DC on Twitter announced that it was a 'false positive'
He's here π

Our πΏπ¦ pace superstar is now out of quarantine. After a false positive result for COVID-19, Anrich Nortje tested negative thrice, and is now part of our team bubble.
We can't wait to see him in action π₯#YehHaiNayiDilli #IPL2021 @AnrichNortje02 @TajMahalMumbai pic.twitter.com/8dGh2GlniK
Nortje was instrumental in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020, picking up 22 wickets at 23.27, helping DC reach their first-ever final.Β
DC made an excellent start to IPL 2021, beating three-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their first match, but then followed it up with a narrow loss against RR. DC, who are being led by Rishabh Pant, in the absence of regular skipper Shreyas Iyer, will look to bounce back in the next game against defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) on Sunday (April 118) at Wankhede.
Nortje could very well make his maiden appearance of the season in that game and is most liley to replace Tom Curran in DC's XI.
