Not MI, or GT, Sunil Gavaskar thinks THIS Team Might Win IPL 2025
Gavaskar predicted that RCB might emerge as the winner of IPL 2025
Former Indian skipper and World Cup winner Sunil Gavaskar has made a big prediction about the ongoing 2025 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He believes that despite Gujarat Titans (GT) and Mumbai Indians (MI) being the top two sides so far, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are the strongest contenders to win the title. He praised RCB's team bonding and consistency this season and said the team can change its fortunes this time.
“RCB have batted brilliantly and their fielding has also been excellent,” Gavaskar said on India Today.
“Mumbai Indians are definitely close, but they have just started getting into rhythm, and they have three difficult matches ahead of them. On the other hand, RCB is already in great rhythm and in my view, they are the strongest contenders for the title."
RCB are currently in third position in the points table after winning seven out of 10 matches so far. The team has done spectacularly well to have won all the away matches so far.
However, RCB's three defeats have happened at their home ground, M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, which is a bit of a concern. The team now has to play three home matches, one of which is against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), on May 3 (Saturday).
What has really worked in RCB’s favour this year has been the fact that their success does not rest just on big names. Players like Tim David, Krunal Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Devdutt Padikkal are constantly making useful contributions to the team.
With such performances and results going their way, Sunil Gavaskar's prediction has raised the hopes of RCB fans.
