The match between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Mumbai Indians (MI), which was initially scheduled to be held in Dharamshala on May 11 (Sunday), will now be held in Ahmedabad on the same day.
The closure of Dharamshala and the nearby airports, including Chandigarh, due to escalating military activities between India and Pakistan, has forced this schedule change.
As a result, MI couldn’t travel to Dharamshala from Mumbai for their game. The Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) secretary, Anil Patel, confirmed the change to The Times of India.
However, the Delhi Capitals (DC) and PBKS sides might face logistical troubles moving out of Dharamsala after their game today, May 8, due to the closure of the airports. Teams are already exploring other travel options, including trains for the players, but that will only be confirmed if it’s comfortable and safe for the players.
All the changes in the region and airports have been brought after India initiated Operation Sindoor, where Indian missiles struck in nine centres across Pakistan. Since then, tensions have risen exponentially with cross-border firing and artillery shelling at the Line of Control (Loc), and both countries testing each other’s air defence systems through multiple attacks.
The IPL 2025 season will reach its conclusion on May 25.
