Former India wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel has picked Rishabh Pant as the X-Factor for the Delhi Capitals (DC) and added that he does not have to worry about being like MS Dhoni. Pant has often had to carry the burden of being compared with Dhoni in the past has put in some top-notch performances of late in all formats, making him the No. 1 choice behind the wickets for India. He was recently named the captain of DC after Shreyas Iyer was ruled out due to a shoulder injury.

"I think Rishabh Pant carries a lot of confidence with him and that's what you want when you are playing a T20 game. You don't want any doubts in your mind and especially a player like Rishabh Pant. He was burdened with the comparison of MS Dhoni and he also tried to do that, but he himself is a brilliant player. He doesn't have to worry about being like MS Dhoni," Parthiv said on Star Sports' show Game Plan

"He can be better than MS Dhoni or he can win matches on his own every given time. So, I think Rishabh Pant will probably hold the key for Delhi Capitals," the former wicketkeeper added.

DC begin their IPL 2021 campaign against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), where Dhoni and Pant will come up against each. DC reached the final in IPL 2020 for the first time in their history and would love to do one better and get their hands on the coveted trophy this time around.
