PCB announces free entry for Pakistan vs New Zealand second Test

The poor turnout for the first Test in Karachi has prompted PCB to take the decision

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Saturday announced free entry for the second Test between Pakistan and New Zealand starting on Monday (January 2).

The PCB was prompted to take the decision after poor turnout for the first Test at the National Stadium in Karachi.

"The spectators are only required to bring either their original CNIC or B-form to enter the stadium and they will be able to watch the action free of cost from any of the premium (Imran Khan, Quaid, Wasim Akram and Zaheer Abbas), first class (Asif Iqbal, Waqar Hassan and Majid Khan) and general enclosures (Muhammad Brothers and Intikhab Alam)," a PCB media release said.

The board added that shuttles will also be running in between the National Bank Cricket Arena and the Gareeb Nawaz parking area for ease of access to the stadium.

The two-match Test series and all three ODIs following it will be played at the National Stadium in Karachi. After going without a single win at home all year in 2022, Pakistan under Babar Azam's captaincy will look to start 2023 with a series win over the Black Caps. Both teams have the chance to win the series after the first Test ended in a draw.
