The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) are all set to miss the deadline for handing over the three stadiums, earmarked for the hosting of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 from February 19 onwards.
The stadiums were to be handed over to ICC by January 31, but now the board plans to hand it over to the international body after the end of the Tri-Series involving the hosts, New Zealand and South Africa.
The PCB posted a video of the newly renovated Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on their X handle. In the view, the stands seem to have been newly painted and there is some sort of work done on the interior and lighting as well.
But even in the video, debris from construction work was visible, hinting that the stadium is not yet fully ready with just six days before the first game of the tri-series.

“For branding and other stuff on February 11. This has been a construction site and there will be some rubble, which will be removed shortly. This stadium has taken shape after six months of work,” a source close to the PCB was quoted as saying by PTI news agency.
Reportedly, PCB have spent PKR 12 billion in renovation work for three stadiums- National Bank Stadium in Karachi, Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore and the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in the garrison town of Rawalpindi.
These three stadiums along with the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai (India matches only) will host the ICC CT 2025 matches.
