Prabhsimran Singh continues to do everything in his powers to earn a team India cap in white-ball cricket as the right-hander, today in Kanpur, smashed a sizzling 65-ball 100 in the third unofficial ODI against Australia ‘A’ to extend his breakthrough 2025 season.
Someone who’s been around the IPL scene for five years, IPL 2025 saw the 25-year-old enjoy a head-turning campaign, where he amassed 549 runs at a strike rate over 160 and helped Punjab Kings (PBKS) reach the final. He’s now carrying that form into the new domestic season as the right-hander has now posted a fifty and a century across three unofficial ODIs against a strong Australia ‘A’ attack.
On the day, chasing 317, Prabhsimran blazed 8 fours and 7 sixes, and was in such an unstoppable mood that he even made Abhishek Sharma (22 off 25 balls) look like a rather ‘slow’ batter.
Prabhsimran got to his fifty off 37 balls and then went into overdrive mode after that, bringing up the next fifty off just 28 balls. He tore into spinners Cooper Connolly and Tanveer Sangha as the right-hander showed no mercy, eventually getting to his sixth List A ton off just 65 balls. The 25-year-old perished immediately after his ton, though, as he got dismissed by Sangha.
The PBKS opener set-up the chase for India ‘A’, with the hosts 145/3 in just 19.1 overs at the time of his dismissal. Abhishek (22) and Tilak Varma (3) both had rare failures as well.
