Twice in two games, Prasidh Krishna has created a rather unwanted record, after conceding 23 runs against Jamie Smith, in the second Test at Edgbaston on July 4 (Friday). After starting well, conceding just 20 runs off his first five overs, the Karnataka pacer ended up handing the momentum back to England.
In the 32nd over of the innings, the 29-year-old ended up conceding the joint-fourth most runs in an over in Tests for an Indian bowler. Jamie Smith started the over with a dot, but then ended up almost ruining Prasidh’s figures, with a slap for a boundary in the deep square region.
Immediately after that, Smith took Prasidh on like he was a club bowler, with a massive six over the square leg region. He didn’t stop there either, with two consecutive fours after that, one through the mid-on region and mid-wicket region.
Carnage didn’t stop there for Prasidh, with a four and a six, as the Indian pacer conceded 23 runs in the over, the fourth costliest over for India in Tests.
